Key Features
Lithium battery
Xena Batteries Ltd., offer a comprehensive range of lithium technology
and whatever choice you select they have all been built to the
same exacting quality standard for safety performance and reliability.
Long service
To assure the exceptional high capacity and high voltages of
lithium batteries along with a low self discharge rate, a
service life
of ten years or more can be achieved with our lithium primary
products. An extended storage is possible without significantly
affecting
performance. For example, at room temperature they typically
lose only 2% of their rated capacity per year. In many cases
the life
expectancy of the cell can be greater than that of the equipment
it is powering.
Temperature range
An additional feature of the lithium Primary cell is it’s
ability to operate successfully across a wide spectrum of Temperature.
In these circumstances the lithium primary cell will consistently
outperform conventional primary and secondary systems.
As an example:- Our standard lithium thionyl chloride primary
battery cell temperature range is –55 ~ +85’C but
to this we have added a further range of
High Temperature cells, available in the Able Range which
will operate in temperatures up to 150’c. That is 77% greater
than our standard.
Build consistency
The Xeno lithium thionyl chloride, high capacity battery
cells are all housed in a stainless steel can and lid .
The Able product uses both a nickel plated mild steel and
stainless
steel in its range.
All the lithium products are built to ISO 9001 certification
with UL approval .
Automated lines are engaged to ensure a consistency of
product excellence.
Construction
Welded rather than crimped sealing from can to lid. Hermetically
sealed glass to metal at the termination point.
Choice of lithium technologies for consideration
Terminal voltage… current… rate capability will
invariably dictate which lithium technology is most suited
to customer for
any particular application.
However other additions such as Operating Temperature,
cost and Start-up characteristics need also to be taken
into consideration |
